TERMS & CONDITIONS

Canine Cutz – Terms & Conditions

By booking an appointment with Canine Cutz Dog Grooming (“Canine Cutz”, “we”, “us”, “our”), the client (“you”, “your”) agrees to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions.

These Terms are intended to ensure the efficient operation of the business and to protect the health, safety, and welfare of all dogs and staff.

1. Deposits

  • A non-refundable deposit of £10 plus £2 VAT per dog is required for all new clients and for returning clients who have not attended an appointment within the preceding twelve (12) months.

  • Deposits may be transferred to an alternative appointment date provided a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours’ notice is given.

  • Deposits will be forfeited in the event of cancellation, failure to attend, or notice of less than twenty-four (24) hours. Canine Cutz reserves the right to reallocate cancelled appointments.

2. Arrival Time

  • Clients must arrive no more than five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time.

  • Clients arriving earlier may be requested to return at the booked time.

3. Late Arrival

  • Where a client arrives fifteen (15) minutes or more after the scheduled appointment time, Canine Cutz reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to shorten or refuse the grooming service if insufficient time remains to complete the groom safely or appropriately.

4. Client Availability

  • Clients must remain contactable for the duration of the grooming appointment.

  • Clients are responsible for ensuring prompt collection once notified that the groom is complete.

  • Any anticipated difficulty with drop-off or collection must be communicated prior to the appointment. Adjustments are not guaranteed and remain at the discretion of Canine Cutz.

5. Late Collection

  • Where a dog is not collected within thirty (30) minutes of notification, and no prior arrangement or valid reason has been provided, a late collection fee of £5 per hour may be applied.

6. Cancellations and No-Shows

  • A minimum of twenty-four (24) hours’ notice is required to cancel an appointment.

  • Cancellations made with less than twenty-four (24) hours’ notice may incur a charge of between fifty percent (50%) and one hundred percent (100%) of the appointment fee.

  • Failure to attend an appointment without notice will result in the full appointment fee being charged. All outstanding fees must be paid prior to any future booking.

  • Fee waivers, if any, are applied solely at the discretion of Canine Cutz.

  • Failure or refusal to settle outstanding cancellation or no-show fees may result in refusal of future bookings, removal from the client register, and further action where appropriate.

7. Toileting

  • Clients must ensure their dog has been appropriately toileted prior to arrival, regardless of weather conditions.

8. Refusal or Termination of Groom

Canine Cutz reserves the right to refuse or discontinue a grooming service at any time where, in its reasonable judgement:

  • The dog or groomer is unwell

  • Fleas are present

  • The dog exhibits extreme fear, distress, or aggression

  • The client behaves in an aggressive, abusive, or inappropriate manner

  • Continuing the groom presents a risk to the dog or staff

9. Missed Appointments

  • Following two (2) missed or late-cancelled appointments, clients will be required to prepay for all future appointments and settle any outstanding fees.

  • Following three (3) missed or late-cancelled appointments, Canine Cutz reserves the right to permanently refuse future bookings.

10. Appointment Value

  • Clients are expected to treat grooming appointments as professional service commitments, comparable to veterinary or medical appointments.

11. Health Disclosure

  • Clients must disclose any changes in their dog’s health, condition, or behaviour prior to each appointment.

  • This information enables appropriate adjustments to grooming procedures. Canine Cutz will inform clients of any issues observed during grooming.

12. Fleas

  • Where fleas are identified, a minimum treatment and sanitation fee of £10–£20 or more will apply, depending on severity and any additional cleaning required.

  • Canine Cutz reserves the right to refuse or discontinue a grooming service due to flea infestation.

  • Clients may be charged up to the full cost of the groom regardless of the stage at which the service is terminated.

13. Pricing for Irregular Appointments

  • Dogs groomed on an infrequent basis may be subject to increased charges, irrespective of breed or service type.

  • Regular grooming schedules attract consistent pricing, subject to coat condition, matting, behaviour, and external cost increases.

14. Matting and Humane Grooming

  • All grooming is carried out in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act.

  • Where severe matting is present, the coat may be clipped or shaved to prevent pain or distress. This process is humane and necessary to promote skin health and coat recovery.

  • Underlying irritation or sores may be revealed and should be assessed by a qualified veterinary professional.

  • Subsequent grooming appointments will focus on coat maintenance. Home-care advice may be provided at the discretion of Canine Cutz.
